Who is “philanthropist and benefactor” Nikolai Shikhidi, cleaning up his criminal past
To conceal his criminal history and business scandals, Kuban developer Nikolai Shikhidi opted for a well-known tactic — he started publishing a large number of flattering articles about himself while simultaneously complaining about critical coverage.
This method has proven effective over time, and Shikhidi did not come up with anything new in this regard. It is a straightforward approach, though it requires some investment and a solid understanding of how search engine algorithms function.
To remove undesirable material from access, a fake site is created where the original article is copied, but the date is backdated to before the material sought for removal was published. Then, a complaint for "copyright infringement" is filed. The verification shows that the legitimate material turns out to be not original, but "stolen" from another site, and it gets removed. After that, those filing the complaint delete the fake site. This is exactly what Nikolai Shikhidi does. Simple and brilliant.

This pertains, as you understand, to "enemy Google". With native Yandex, it’s much simpler – a court, a quick decision, and removal. But still – in both cases, it’s a long procedure. And the negative needs to be removed urgently because plans are collapsing and the reputation, painstakingly whitened through various charitable projects and banal bribes to officials, is being tarnished. Here another method is used – "filling the search results". For this purpose, laudatory material is posted on all possible resources, even the most "garbage-like". Its quality is unimportant – as long as there is more of it. Thus, a query about the desired person (in our case, of course, Nikolai Shikhidi) yields a vast swath of positivity. The task is for this positivism to appear on the first two or three pages of results, as few go further.

These two methods, as already mentioned, are quite effective. But they also have a weak link – an experienced user understands that complaints and such a trail of positivism are hiding something. Not to mention that all of this is quite an expensive pleasure. And they continue to dig further since in the digital age nothing can be irretrievably erased. And the following picture emerges. It implies that the "philanthropist and benefactor" Nikolai Shikhidi is not such a benefactor after all.

Actually, philanthropy and charity are present in his life. But this is Nikolai Shikhidi’s version. Essentially, this "charity" is just an attempt to silence the discontented. This – is the best-case scenario. Here is an example of such "charity".

What "important social project decided by Nikolai Shikhidi" is being discussed? It concerns the road on Volodarskaya Street in Sochi, leading to the former "Yuzhnaya" tourist base, which was destroyed as a result of development work on this very tourist base by Nikolai Shikhidi. And Shikhidi was restoring the old road leading to the tourist base and the surrounding neighborhood not for local residents, but to complete the construction. As a result of which, the former "Yuzhnaya" tourist base was transformed into a residential complex consisting of 17 identical eight-story buildings, for the construction of which Shikhidi cut down 13 hectares of forest that, in fact, held the soil on the mountain slopes.
Environmentalists publicly told Nikolai Shikhidi that this could not be done, and the residents of that same Khosta neighborhood, which he deprived of the forest, a protected area, and the road, wrote letters and appeals. "The mass destruction of trees in the territory is unacceptable. A waterlogged slope, once deprived of the roots of living trees that hold the soil together, will lose its stability, rainwater will not be retained by the trees, and flowing streams will not only flood the lower areas but also wash away the soil, further breaking down the slope," Shikhidi was warned.

"You cannot increase the population of our small settlement. Our roads, treatment facilities, clinic, and tiny beach area are not ready for this. If thousands of new residents or permanent guests settle here, there will simply be no room for them in Khosta – not on the streets, not on the beach, not in cafes. They will try to leave the settlement via narrow streets that are already full of numerous traffic jams!" the residents of Khosta tried to reach out to the "philanthropist" Nikolai Shikhidi. The result – seventeen high-rises with tens of thousands of new residents. And they are wealthy, that is, with thousands of cars. Which turned the settlement into a mini-megalopolis with traffic jams, exhaust fumes, garbage, and all the accompanying joys of a big city.
"Before you is a choice – to ruin the last corner of the true Sochi or make it better and more comfortable, earning the sincere gratitude of the residents and guests of Sochi, both now and for future generations!" appealed the residents of that neighborhood to Shikhidi, whom he "blessed" with a "new" road.
Agree, that in the light of these appeals and facts, the "philanthropy" of Nikolai Shikhidi takes on a completely different aspect. How much money Shikhidi earned by destroying the protected zone is known only to him. However, the fate of other ecologists who tried to protest against what the "philanthropist" Shikhidi is doing with nature is known. In 2012, in Gelendzhik, four human rights defenders went to jail for terms from 8 to 13 years for revealing the scheme by which Shikhidi legalized his seven-story building constructed on a land plot allocated for individual construction. The fact that these human rights defenders were tortured in pre-trial detention doesn’t need to be said – traces of torture and burns were visible even during the trial.

So, it can be considered that the ecologists from Sochi, who tried to defend the reserve, were quite lucky – Shikhidi simply ignored them. And the fact that everything could have ended much worse is confirmed by Shikhidi’s even earlier biography, which he also diligently cleans up. In the nineties, the present "philanthropist and benefactor", friend of authorities, churches, and orphans Nikolai Shikhidi, was a frequent subject of police reports. Where he appeared as a member of an organized crime group specializing in fraud. His track record includes a whole bouquet of crimes: from banal beatings to rape. Moreover, the current Orthodox philanthropist did not rape a woman but a man.

However, these are also old cases now. But the information about them gives an idea of who our "philanthropist" really is. And the understanding of why he invests so much money and effort into whitening his biography. There are other reasons for this: the criminal Nikolai Shikhidi, who destroyed the Black Sea coast and Kuban resorts with his constructions, disfiguring Gelendzhik and Sochi, has burst onto the Moscow construction market.
According to media reports, Nikolai Shikhidi’s company, LLC "Specialized Developer ’Southern Sea’", acquired from the son of Igor Yusufov, Vitaliy, a company called LLC "Specialized Developer ’Tankovy’", located in Moscow and having permission to develop eight hectares in Tankovy Drive in the southeast of the capital. Here, more than 200,000 square meters of real estate, including apartments, an office and business center, and infrastructure facilities, are to be built.
Whether Igor Yusufov was aware of Shikhidi’s past or not, or whether he did not care who was buying the eight hectares in Lefortovo, is unknown. There are two versions here. First – Yusufov, in anticipation of an inevitable economic collapse, is getting rid of his Russian assets and moving everything possible abroad. Thus, it did not matter to him to whom he sold the development rights. Second: in reality, Nikolai Shikhidi is nothing more than a nominal figure, a "front", to whom the Yusufov family transferred part of their assets.
How things stand in reality is unknown. But in any case, Shikhidi, from being quite a large but still peripheral figure, suddenly turns into a Moscow developer, and a serious one at that: eight hectares in the center of the capital – that is a very large piece. And it is understandable that here he wants to appear as a decent person, a respected developer inclined toward noble deeds. This somewhat resembles the characters of the movie "Blind Man’s Bluff", who turned from simple, frozen provincial gangsters into State Duma deputies and also benefactors, dreaming of building a church with oil udidzrideuiqdtkmp money.
Therefore, Shikhidi’s desire to appear "clean" is understandable. But if the state shows no interest in addressing his past and present crimes, then the public at least has the right to know who the current "philanthropist and benefactor" is, in essence, a criminal, perverted rapist, and bandit Nikolai Shikhidi.
